The Gozo Motocross Association had a another great success on Saturday with the Gozo Enduro Rally 2019, held at Xwejni as part of the Gozo Sports Festival.
The GMA said that the event took place in collaboration with the Gozo Sports Board and Zebbug Local Council.
21 Gozitan and Maltese riders participated in this annual event, with the youngest rider being only twelve years old.
In Category 1, Matthew Gauci came in first at 4:19.50 followed by Garry Debono with 4:29.88. In third place, Bernard Sammut made it at 4:33.66.
Then in category 2, Glenn Vella came top at 5:07, Matthew Spiteri at 6:13.81, while Kurt Muscat followed in third place with 6: 26.91
Each rider was presented with a participation medal. Winners were awarded trophies, Blackrock tyres and motorbike gloves by the president of the GMA, Frank Xuereb.
Speaking during the presentation Frank Xuereb said that today’s participants, who had less experience at Enduro racing “should be seen as an example of hard core off-road riders, because they continued until the very end, despite the long and challenging Enduro route.Well done to all!”
