“We are a small family restaurant, we’re not rich at all and we’re also struggling at the moment,” Pavia, who owns the Sunset Restaurant in Fgura, told Walker. “However, we can offer you a free meal from the heart to help a little.”

Meanwhile, Cutajar, who owns the L-Arka ta’ Noe zoo in Siġġiewi, offered Walker and her daughter a private session with his leopard cubs.

“If you can help these people out and cheer them up, then don’t hold yourself back,” he said. “God is great and will reward you for helping out people in need.”

The Housing Authority yesterday confirmed it will be providing the families four apartments as temporary accommodation until their Ħamrun home is deemed safe. All expenses will be paid for by the contractor of the neighbouring construction site.
