Man injured after two-storey jump, arrested by police in Hamrun

A man was seriously injured after jumping two storeys from a Hamrun establishment early this morning, the police said.

The police were called to the site in Duke of Edinburgh Street at 1.30am.

Members of the Rapid Intervention Unit did not see anything suspicious on turning up at the side, but soon afterwards they could hear noises coming from inside the estaboishment.

Upon carrying out a search in San Vincenz Street, which is siatuated at the back of the establishment, they found an injured man. The Civil protection Department was called for assistance.

It resulted that the man, a Romanian, had jumped two storeys and was hurt. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The police said that the man was found with an undisclosed amount of cash on his person.

He was arrested.
