MEP Francis Zammit Dimech has expressed his disappointment after the airshow was cancelled for the second consecutive year.
“This is a niche that affects many Maltese aviation enthusiasts, families who await this appointment to take their children to watch the show and attracts many high quality tourists to our country,” he added.
“It is a pity that in recent months we have repeatedly heard how the Malta Aviation Society was not finding any support to organise the airshow, said Zammit Dimech.
The Nationalist administrations offered support for this activity to take place, said the MEP. He added that when he served as Minister for Tourism, “the airshow was organised one year after another without ever missing an edition.”
Zammit Dimech added that “as Minister, Konrad Mizzi had broken a record, since during his two year stint as Tourism Minister, the airshow was not organised for two consecutive years.”
Zammit Dimech concluded by saying that he will be “offering full support so that airshow will once again become an annual appointment under a new Nationalist government.”
