The government today reported a 2.1% decrease in criminality in 2019 when compared to 2018, and a 10% decrease in the last three years.
Addressing a press conference, Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri said that some types of crime decreased, such as pickpocketing, while others increased, such as theft from vehicles.
The press conference was held “virtually”, via internet, with no journalists present in the room. Questions could still however be made.
