30 new cases of Covid-19 were found overnight, taking the total number of cases in Malta over 2,000, figures released by health authorities show.
36 new recoveries were also registered in the past 24 hours, authorities said.
This means that the number of active cases of the virus has dipped below 400 – to 399.
1,703 swab tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of tests done so far up to 200,586.
Authorities said that today’s cases are still being investigated, but gave details about those reported on Friday.
Out of the 19 reported on Friday, three were family members of previously known cases, five were work colleagues of positive cases, and three were direct contacts of positive cases.
The new numbers take the total number of Covid-19 cases in Malta up to 2,014. 1,601 of those have recovered, while 14 have died – with the most recent death being reported on Saturday morning.
