Bank of Valletta has announced that it’s ATMs, cash machines, and retail terminals for processing card payments are currently not functioning and are out of order due to technical difficulties.
“The bank is making every effort to limit the time that these systems are down,” BOV said in a statement this afternoon.
The bank has apologised to its customers and users and promised to get the ATMs and POS online as soon as possible.
Earlier this year, BOV was the target of an international hacking attack that saw €13 million stolen from the island and sent abroad. At least €10 million of that stolen amount has been recovered.
