At 3.6 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, Malta now tops the ECDC chart for the EU when it comes to the 14-day cumulative number of deaths.

The list also includes countries from the European Economic as well as the UK.

35 people who were positive for Covid-19 have died in Malta since the pandemic began. The ECDC date does not yet include the latest Covid death. 22 of them died in September, while at least one person has died every day for the past 12 days.

23 new cases were found on Wednesday, for a total of 3,058 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Spain is second on the list, with 3.4 deaths per 100,000 people. Romania is in third place, with 2.9 deaths per 100,000 people.
