The government has ordered a mandatory quarantine for people arriving from the UK as from Tuesday, a government statement said.
This decision was taken following the emergence of a new Covid-19 strain in the UK.
Other EU countries have stopped flights from the UK. Flights to Malta will continue, but a 14-day mandatory quarantine is required.
The statement said the health authorities are monitoring the situation carefully and taking part in discussions that could eventually lead to a common position taken by the EU.
