The police’s Administrative Law Enforcement agency discovered 53 dead birds in a shop in Mosta, most of which were protected species.
At around 12 pm today, police were notified of a man (aged 32) who had been spotted entering a shop on Triq Gużeppi Callus in Mosta, allegedly carrying protected bird species on him.
Police descended on the spot immediately where they discovered 53 dead birds in a freezer including eagles, storks and ducks.
Another search conducted at the man’s residence resulted in the discovery of an unspecified number of stuffed birds.
